Oh, people. David LaRochelle and Mike Wohnoutka have a history of creating wonderful, engaging books.
For example and example and example:
Today, I bring you the latest David LaRochelle/Mike Wohnoutka Collaboration.
I am not the only one who is a big fan of this book.
This is what Booklist and Kirkus had to say:
LaRochelle and Wohnoutka, the brilliantly witty writer and illustrator whose book See the Cat: Three Stories about a Dog won the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award, take kids on a vicarious adventure of sneaky questions designed to trip up and amuse listeners in equal measure. . . . A clever, hilarious picture book!
—Booklist (starred review)
LaRochelle delightfully upends expectations in this tribute to the power of no. . . . A laugh-out-loud marvel of excess and pacing. . . . There’s no penalty for rereading this hilarious, irresistible book—perhaps readers will out-manipulate Mr. Fox after all! You can bet on this sideshow for an interactive good time.

Nice, huh?
I hereby give you Five of the Reasons I Say YESSS!!! to Mr. Fox’s Game of “No!“:
1–It is read aloud GOLD. Omigoodness, countless librarians will be sharing this book at story time and the kids in their audiences will be all in.
2–It’s funny, and you know I love funny. The addition of “their own baby dolphin” in the following spread was so ridiculously adorable it made me laugh out loud.
3–It actively engages the reader on every spread. In the following spread in particular, it’s obvious that every single kid knows the answer to every single question is definitely YES, but, to follow Mr. Fox’s game, these kids have to say NO.
4–The art is a JOY.
5–This book lands the ending. It even includes baby dolphins performing a water ballet. What?!
Soooo…go find this book and prepare yourself for some fun!
I fully predict that a Mr. Fox’s Game of YES! will make its way onto shelves, and I, for one, cannot wait to play.
